L.P. Meredith Lloyd-Evans, Managing Director, BioBridge Ltd. (U.K.)

Meredith graduated from the University of Cambridge Veterinary School in 1973 and worked in Canada (internship at OVC and practice in Toronto) and in the UK in mixed practice before joining Smith Kline Animal Health Ltd as technical adviser in 1977. He left in 1985 as Pharmaceutical Products development co-ordinator SmithKline Animal Health Products Europe, having been Technical Director of the UK company, where he was responsible for registering and supporting many innovative products still in the Pfizer portfolio, such as the first live virus vaccines for cattle. He also gained the registration for the first UK licence for use of FIE vaccine for control of canine parvovirus, shortly followed by one of the first live CPV vaccines.

Since 1989 he has run BioBridge, www.biobridge.co.uk, a consultancy based in Cambridge UK, which focuses on helping life science innovations reach and stay in the market. He consults companies and organisations ranging from start-ups to multinationals and governments, as well as mentoring entrepreneurial students. In animal health and veterinary sectors, he is involved in advising European, US and Japanese companies on regulatory and technology strategy for new products, market dynamics for innovations and the impact of new regulation on business. His most recent projects include new feed additives for farm and companion animals.

He is a past-secretary of the Association of Veterinarians in Industry and past-secretary and Board member of BIRA, the forerunner of The Organisation for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs (TOPRA), of which he is a life-time Fellow. He was General Secretary of AVC, the Association of Veterinary Consultants www.avc.at, 2005-2006.
